MSPO Grad Student tapped to write  column in The O&P EDGE

Microsensors Measure Water & Air Pollutants
Researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology have developed a miniature sensor that uses polymer membranes deposited on a tiny silicon disk to measure pollutants present in aqueous or gaseous environments. An array of these sensors with different surface coatings could be used during field-testing to rapidly detect many different chemicals.( full story... )

Recent Awards & Honors
Four Georgia Tech faculty members were named American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellows for 2007,  Dr. Yuri Bakhtin, in Math, received a prestigious NSF CAREER Award, and 5 math faculty were honored for NSF approval of their MCTP proposal aimed at improving math skills of undergraduate and highschool students.  (full story... )
